The lost cloud project is about a lot of things: 

It is about loss.

It is about looking for something you may never find and finding out that the process of looking is the most important thing.

It is about trying to possess or tie down something that you never really had in the first place.

Forming a close relationship with a distant object.

Finally it is about taking time to notice and think about something that isn't necessarily useful. It is about getting back in touch with the part of you that watches clouds.
